The Renault brothers

Louis, Marcel and Fernand Renault founded a car factory in 1899 and produced the first engine four years later. During the First World War, in additions to cars, Renault produced ammunitions, military airplanes and vehicles such as the famous FT-17, the first modern tank. The famous 600 Parisian taxis that carried the French troops at the front line on the Marne, to expedite supplies, were the Renault AG and AG-1; Louis obtained the Legion of Honour for the contribution of his company to the war.
